For a written exam (Elements 2, 3, 4) you will be given a question booklet and a sheet for recording answers. You can use scratch paper provided by the VEs if you need it, and a basic calculator with its memory erased. The VEs will tell you, at their discretion, what is allowed and what isn't. Take as much time as you want (within reason) to answer all questions.
Technology is making traditional testing complicated for us today, so, unless it's an emergency, the use of cell phones and/or smartphones is not permitted once a test has been started. If an emergency call must be taken, the examination must stop, a new test will be given to the examinee, and he/she has to start over.
On the answer sheet, mark your name, Element, Test Series (the number at the top of your test booklet) and date.
We hope you do well and that you will leave our session with a CSCE. Look at the links below for further help in preparing for the exams.
